As a Cardinals fan there was real dislike for the Mets back in the early and mid 80's as they had a real rivalry in play with the New York Mets. Today's moment in history stirred those memories. It was on this date back in 1985 that the Met's Dwight Gooden became the youngest pitcher in the history of the game to notch a 20 win season. Doc was as good a young pitcher as I had ever laid my eyes on. Like many, including his teammate Daryl Strawberry they experienced a lot of success early on and did not handle as well as they could have. Cocaine was at it's zenith in the sports world, not to mention disco's, and was the drug of choice. Knock back a few lines and all was right with the world. Predictably it caught up, as it almost always does and wreaked havoc on their lives for an extended period.
Looking at a free winner now. Tonight I am suggesting a small wager on the Royals as they return home from a successful road swing and open a series against the Yankees with their ace James Shields taking the ball. Kansas City continues to confound the baseball world and most are consenting that the Royals are a serious threat to topple the Tigers.
On the business side of things I do have a rare back to back Triple star situation in play. Easily cashed on a big Triple sunday with the Angels manhandling the A's by five runs. Been on a nice run with baseball of late and have hit on 19 of the last 23 baseball selections. I do have another Triple loaded up for tonight guys. One other note, I have been informed that today is the final day to take advantage of the early bird discounted college football offer. Last season my clients and I had a very, very solid season and when the dust settled were comfortably up by forty units. The College football Triples cashed at a blistering 70% clip. I can tell you I already have my first college Triple loaded up. There is a total of four college games already loaded in for subscribers. I know from past experience there will be a ton of people waiting until the end and then coming on board as subscribers and while I am always glad to add on new folks I hate to see them miss the opportunity to save on the packages. So, there it is, I've been told today is indeed the last day and the prices will not be this low again.
With so much going on with the baseball pennant races, college football kicking off and the NFL looming it's an exciting time and also one filled with work to do. So with that being said, I'm back at it. Thanks as always and best of luck tonight with your action.
