For those of you who missed it, underdogs went a perfect 8-0 against the spread in Monday's NBA, NFL and college basketball games. The odds of that happening randomly are 256/1 according to Pregame President RJ Bell.
One Forums member picked up on this trend following the early NBA games and bet the Memphis Grizzlies +13 on the road against the Phoenix Suns. Many members of the Pregame Community were also on the San Francisco 49ers as double-digit underdogs, and they came up just a few yards short of pulling off the straight-up upset.
However, the most unlikely underdog to cover on Monday was probably the Presbyterian Blue Hose (no joke), who stayed within seven points of the fifth-ranked Duke Blue Devils in the second half to cover the 35-point spread in an 80-49 loss to open the college basketball season.
Two dogs won SU as the Portland Trail Blazers (+7) beat the Orlando Magic 106-99 and Georgia Southern (+6) upset Houston 65-63.
