I've heard rumors about s.a.spurs games being (fixed) from years ago.4 0r 5 yrs ago during their championship year they covered every point spread,fav by 16,won by 18.its like the team knew the pointspread.then against atlanta one night they did'nt show up as a 8 point fav.atlanta was a live dog to be sure but if the spurs cover that game the books stood to lose millions.I was relatively new to betting and i had 3 4-team parleys tied into that game.probably bet all favs and they all just happened to win that night.s.a. covers and little guy like me wins 2500 bucks.worse beat i've ever had and i'll never forget it.theres no doubt in my mind that that game was fixed along with all the other games they covered as 16 point favs of which there were many that year.bottom line,knowing what i know now i should have trusted my instincts and taken atlanta+8.even back then being new to the game i knew there was something phishy about that line.in a multi-billion dollar business you'd have to be an absolute fool not to believe it doesnt exist and i was one that night

The United States' first marijuana cafe opened on Friday, posing an early test of the Obama administration's move to relax policing of medical use of the drug.

The Cannabis Cafe in Portland, Oregon, is the first to give certified medical marijuana users a place to get hold of the drug and smoke it -- as long as they are out of public view -- despite a federal ban.

"This club represents personal freedom, finally, for our members," said Madeline Martinez, Oregon's executive director of NORML, a group pushing for marijuana legalization. "Our plans go beyond serving food and marijuana," said Martinez. "We hope to have classes, seminars, even a Cannabis Community College, based here to help people learn about growing and other uses for cannabis."

The cafe -- in a two-story building which formerly housed a speak-easy and adult erotic club Rumpspankers -- is technically a private club, but is open to any Oregon residents who are NORML members and hold an official medical marijuana card. Members pay $25 per month to use the 100-person capacity cafe. They don't buy marijuana, but get it free over the counter from "budtenders". Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., it serves food but has no liquor license.

Thanks Steve, good luck w/ bball man. I haven't been looking much at all at college basketball because there just isn't enough time right now with NBA/NFL/CFB. There's def some weak numbers to take advantage of early in the season because not many people are paying attention to it.

Hey, what do you think of the Washington/Oregon State game this weekend? I was oh so close to picking Wash +13.5, especially after the line move...but the thing that kept me off of is that I feel the Beavers are still being under-rated by the public. Their offense is really clicking right now.

I'd add that with LINES getting paper thin, I've found that TEASER Values are Rising up off the Page with dramatic regularity....examples:

UCLA in Pullman this weekend, off many rough games BUT nice win - QB Injury Issues, continued difficulty scoring, but playing the #117 DEF - tm that's thrown it in essentially...-17 too many for me to lay, but looks quite safe at -10. Similarly with Texas -24 at Baylor, Tory +13.5 at Arky, Iowa +17 at Ohio St, given another TD, with the base of knowledge we have logged to this point, these games are falling close to actually spread-line far more often than I've seen in recent late seasons.

Teasers aren't for everyone - BUT TO the GRINDER, they gotta be looked at and exploited, IMO.

This is highly valueable subject, Ev...nice work.

Digging into these CBB Numbers too - CANNOT WAIT to see how this slate of games comes out tonight!

like in the nfl when a wideout catches a ball , touch two feet down and then when he hits the ground he bobbles it or it comes loose , it's ruled incomplete. but when a rb flies over the endzone with the ball and after he crosses the ball comes loose it's a td.

I was referring to the average "pro" handicapper who says they have inside info on a primetime game that you must have in order to be on the winning side. Guys who really do have some kind of inside info are probably not going to advertise that fact and probably aren't selling their picks. Congrats on your inside info.

really Evan it is out there, nothing illegal or fixed about it. I know i get a call about 3 times during football season and maybe a few times during basketball season where you know you are getting something real.

BTW.....on the plane ride story above, we knew the stewardess and she called from the AIR PHONE LOL.

I have known FOR FACT that a QB(normal starter) was not going to play. Me, my friend, the coaching staff were the ONLY was that knew I promise you that.

in fact the QB came out and took pregame snaps then when the team came out he was in street clothes.

Evan- this was not a game time decision, the info was given to me on friday night. Needless to say, my book was asking whats up when I hammered him. The line never moved cause noone knew and the game was never circled and would have been for this QB.

also another time, I got this call at 2am in the morning, It said bet this team, now....I said why. HE said so n so cut his finger at dinner (star point gaurd).

Well Evan, dinner was on the TEAM FLIGHT to the game. never reported game never circled, point gaurd did not start, did play once the rout was on cut finger and all.

is that inside enough for you?

bama and fla have been getting some calls for sure, probably more of conf wanting to keep them undefeated.....that LSU int, how can u see that over and over on tape and not call it an int, one thing to miss it it in real time but when u can watch several times and still not get it right.......WTF

Needham, what's an example of some inside info you got before? If you don't want to say specifically, then just give a generalization of what some inside info could be that someone would have?
