For this game both teams are in a bad mood and this isn't surprisingly
at all, as both teams have a combined record of 20-52. The Bobcats lost
yesterday in Philadelphia against the Sixers and the Wizards were
beaten in Chicago against the Bulls.
For today the totals line is 180 points, which is a low number but
if we take in account that in the last matchup the game ended with just
152 points, the 180 points might be a fair line. However, I believe
that this game will go above the 180 points mark, as both teams are
looking to bounce back in here.
The Wizards had a terrible game yesterday in Chicago. They lost by
12 points and the most important fact is that All-star forwards Caron
Butler and Antawn Jamison combined just 5-20 FG for 13 points. In
fact, Butler's two points on his 1-for-8 shooting were a season-low:
"I think that's my worst game ever," said Butler, who was blanketed by
Bulls guard Thabo Sefolosha in the first half. "In my life."
The Wizards trailed by 52-34 at halftime after failing to attempt a
single free throw, which is an indication that the passive Wizards were
too reliant on jump shots and played with a general lack of aggression.
Of course I don't expect the same to happen tonight. The Wizards had
only 14 free throw attempts and probably they will double the number
tonight. Also Jamison and Butler won't end tonight's game with just 13
combined points for sure.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats spent a hard time yesterday to score down
the paint against the Sixers, with Dalembert having 4 blocks and the
Sixers outscoring the Bobcats 58-34 in the paint. I think that the
Wizards don't have the toughness that the Sixers have in the paint and
the horrendous numbers of Gerald Wallace and Boris Diaw (3-11 FG and
2-12 FG respectively) won't be repeated tonight.
The Bobcats are 5-0 Over in their last 5 back to back games and in
a game that probably will be decided down the stretch, I expect both
teams to score in the low 90's in here. The Over is 7-1-1 in the
Wizards' last 9 games as a home favorite of 0.5-4.5. Take the over in
here.
