5/22/06 - Game 7: Dallas 119, SAN ANTONIO 111 OT (ATS winner: Dallas +3 | OVER 190.5)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: Dallas blew a 20-point first-half lead and trailed 104-101 with 32 seconds remaining in regulation when San Antonio's Manu Ginobili hit a 3-pointer. However, Dirk Nowitzki came right back with a 3-point play to tie the game for the Mavs and send it to overtime. Then, Dallas took control in OT despite three of the team's players fouling out in the extra session, outscoring the Spurs 15-7 en route to the series-clinching victory. The Mavs led 64-50 at halftime to put the game on an OVER pace, and both teams scored at least 20 points in every quarter to keep it that way.
5/19/06 - Game 6: San Antonio 91, DALLAS 86 (ATS winner: San Antonio +2 | UNDER 194)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: Michael Finley made a huge 3-pointer against his former team with 2:46 remaining to break an 82-82 tie and put the Spurs ahead, and then Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker each hit a pair of free throws in the final 15 seconds to ice the victory. The Mavs had a chance to tie the game before Parker's free throws with five seconds left, but Dirk Nowitzki missed a tough 3-point attempt from the corner nearly two seconds earlier. Neither team scored more than 26 points in a quarter, and both battled hard defensively to force the game UNDER.
5/17/06 - Game 5: SAN ANTONIO 98, Dallas 97 (ATS winner: Dallas +5 | OVER 194)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: Manu Ginobili hit 1-of-2 free throws with 1:59 remaining to give the Spurs the victory and push the total OVER even though plenty of drama followed. San Antonio missed three shots that could have enabled a cover while Dallas missed a 3-pointer and turned the ball over before Jason Terry missed the potential game-winning shot for the Mavs after two jump balls in the final six seconds.
5/15/06 - Game 4: DALLAS 123, San Antonio 118 OT (ATS winner: Dallas -2 | OVER 189.5)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: The Mavs sent the game into overtime on two free throws from Dirk Nowitzki with 8.5 seconds remaining after Michael Finley had given the Spurs a 111-109 lead on a 3-pointer nearly seven seconds earlier. San Antonio's Tim Duncan then missed a potential game-winning hook shot as time expired. In OT, Dallas took control by scoring the first two baskets and didn't trail in the extra session. Tony Parker missed two free throws with 32 seconds left for the Spurs and Finley missed a 3-pointer at the end that would have forced a push had it gone down. Dallas trailed 26-19 at the end of the first quarter but averaged more than 30 points in the last three to help the total sail OVER before OT.
5/13/06 - Game 3: DALLAS 104, San Antonio 103 (ATS winner: San Antonio +4 | OVER 187.5)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: The Spurs trailed by 13 points in the first half until rallying back in the fourth quarter, leading 103-102 until Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki made two free throws with 7.9 seconds left for the game's final points. The fourth quarter saw a combined 65 points scored by both teams - more than twice the fourth-quarter total of Game 1 - pushing it OVER.
5/9/06 - Game 2: Dallas 113, SAN ANTONIO 91 (ATS winner: Dallas +3.5 | OVER 182)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: The Mavs got off to a 21-point lead in the first half, and the Spurs couldn't get within 14 points the rest of the way. Dallas outscored San Antonio 32-16 in the second quarter to build the cushion and totaled 26 points or more in every quarter for the team's highest point total of the playoffs, making this an easy OVER.
5/7/06 - Game 1: SAN ANTONIO 87, Dallas 85 (ATS winner: Dallas +4 | UNDER 181)
Recap | Boxscore
SUMMARY: Dallas outscored San Antonio by three points in both the first and second quarters in building a 52-46 halftime lead. However, the Spurs tightened up their defense big-time in the second half, turning what looked like a sure OVER to an UNDER by limiting the Mavs to just 33 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter. Bruce Bowen hit a 3-pointer for San Antonio with 2:15 left that turned out to be the game-winner, as Dallas star Dirk Nowitzki was double-teamed on the last possession of the game and had to kick it out to Jerry Stackhouse for the final shot, a difficult 3-point attempt from the corner that fell short. The Spurs missed four shots after Bowen hit the 3-pointer, including three by Manu Ginobili. Those misses left open the opportunity for the Mavs to tie or win the game and kept San Antonio from covering the spread.

REGULAR-SEASON SERIES RECAP: Dallas got arguably the biggest win of the regular-season series in the last meeting at San Antonio on April 7th. Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 of his 30 points in the second half for the Mavs and goes into this series with an edge on San Antonio's Tim Duncan for the first time. Nowitzki averaged 25 points in the four meetings while Duncan averaged just 15. The Mavericks surrendered only 90 points per game to the Spurs, which is the major difference between this year and the no-D Dallas teams of years past.
