Definition: There are two ways of
betting sides: the
moneyline and against the
spread. To bet against the spread is to make a
wager that will be decided by adding points to one team or the other after the game is played.
Also Known As: ATS
Example: Ned bet against the spread that the Patriots (-7) would beat the Eagles. That means the Patriots would have to win by more than 7 points for Ned to win his bet.
